September 13, 2014 -- About 40 residents turned out for a meeting at Glen Head School this past Wednesday evening to hear a proposal to build 56 townhouse units on the Halm Industries property in Glen Head.  The owner of Halm and the 5.39 acre property at 180 Glen Head Road, Donald Lyon, was on hand as were two representatives of Goodman-Marks Associates, a real estate appraisal and consulting firm,  and two representatives of the Garden City based developer Engel Burman, a prospective buyer of the property. The Glen Head Business Association along with the First National Bank of Long Island will sponsor a Farmers Market and Local Business Showcase that will take place on Sunday September 21, 2014 from 10 am to 3 pm in the bank parking lot at the corner of Roosevelt Street and Glen Head Road in the center of Glen Head.  Rottkamp's Farm of Old Brookville will be selling produce, and Business Association members will be offering their wares for sale as well as information about the services and goods they provide. OPENING OF NORTH SHORE STUDENT-BUILT VICTORIAN HOUSE TO BE CELEBRATED THIS THURSDAY EVENING

On Thursday,  September 18th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, the North Shore Schools along with the Viking Foundation will Celebrate the Grand Opening of the Victorian TV & Recording Studio Built by seniors and alumni in the Long Island Studies (LIS) Program in collaboration with North Shore Community members under the direction of Technology teacher, Bruce Fichtman,  with assistance from district administrators and Board of Education, and funding by the Viking Foundation.  The doors are open to all in the community!  Read Article posted August 11th.

September 16, 2014 -- Local government and school district officials met at the corner of Kissam Lane and Glen Cove Avenue the past two mornings to discuss ways of improving pedestrian safety at the site where a North Shore Middle School student was struck by a car last Wednesday, and where, at the urging of the School District, a traffic study had only been conducted a few years ago.  Fortunately, the student was not seriously hurt and is expected to make a full recovery.  READ MORE

ALT-COUNTRY QUARTET ANTIGONE RISING ROCKS SEA CLIFF IN FINAL BEACH CONCERT OF SUMMER SEASON

September 15, 2014 -- In the grand finale of the 2014 summer concert season, several hundred from near and far turned out for a performance by Antigone Rising this past Saturday evening at Sea Cliff Beach.  The globe trotting alt-country quartet, that is known far beyond Sea Cliff for its rocking rhythms and three part harmonies, did not disappoint and neither did the spectacular late summer sunset. The Beach Stage will host its final act of the year this coming Saturday when the Sea Cliff Silly Shakespeare company performs its Shakespearean spoof MacNoooo!

"GROWING UP IN SEA CLIFF" EXHIBIT AT SEA CLIFF MUSEUM THIS FALL

On Sunday September 28 at 2pm in room C at Village Hall the Sea Cliff Village Museum's new exhibit "Growing Up in Sea Cliff" will hold its opening reception. The opening will feature readings from Village Historians and others. The museum's extensive collection of children's clothing, toys, books and artifacts will be on display.
