I very much appreciate the support of the North Shore community in electing me twice to the school board.  I also very much appreciate the opportunity to serve, first as vice president and now as president of our school board.  We are fortunate to have a dedicated hard working school board and a dedicated supportive community looking for the best possible education for our children while being fiscally responsible.

Today, schools face serious issues. . .READ MORE

Received from Toni Labbate, Glen Head   April 14, 2015

To the Editor,

It is with great enthusiasm, that I announce my candidacy for re-election to the North Shore Board of Education.  With many difficult issues facing public education, I am committed to continuing our locally focused work in pursuing a fair resolution to the loss of tax revenue from the demolition of the LIPA Power Plant while keeping our schools strong and effective for our students and all residents.  Strong schools equals strong communities, and the North Shore School community deserves nothing less than maintaining our high-performing district.
