SEA CLIFF VILLAGE BOARD WEIGHS ONE-WAY PROPOSAL

Picture
February 11, 2015 -- Citing safety concerns, the Sea Cliff Village Board is considering transitioning Cliff Way and the Boulevard from two-way to one-way traffic on April 1, nearly two months earlier than usual, and switching back to two-way after September 30. The discussion took place at this past Tuesday evening's monthly meeting. . . .Mayor Bruce Kennedy said that he believed that one-way traffic was a safety necessity during the Summer months and that with the increased popularity of the beach in the springtime, and diagonal parking spaces along the Boulevard being filled more often, it "seemed to make more sense to change to one-way earlier."  READ MORE

CIVIC PROGRESS PARTY GETS SLATE ON THE BALLOT IN PETITION DRIVE

Picture
by Frank Murray, Sea Cliff Civic Progress Party

February 9, 2015 - Despite the snow and ice storms of recent days, the Civic Progress Committee gathered 215 Sea Cliff signatures to place its candidates on the March 18 election ballot.  As a result, Bruce Kennedy has been nominated to serve a third term as Mayor of Sea Cliff; Edward Lieberman a second term as Trustee; and Dina Epstein to serve her first term as Trustee.  Although Ms. Epstein is running for trustee for the first time, she has served the Village for many years as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and is its current Chairperson.  She has also volunteered in our district schools and with our local Girl Scout troop.  There is no doubt she will join Bruce and Ed as strong advocates for the good of the Village.

The committee calls upon all Sea Cliff residents to support our candidates on Election Day, Wednesday, March 18.  (The date has been moved to Wednesday so as not to conflict with St. Patrick’s Day.) Please be sure to take the time to vote.
