NSPAC TESTIFIES AT TESTING AND COMMON CORE FORUM SPONSORED BY LOCAL ASSEMBLYMEN

October 25 --  Local State Assemblymen Edward Ra (R- Franklin Square) and Michael Montesano (R- Glen Head), along with five of their colleagues in the Republican caucus were at SUNY Old Westbury on Thursday evening to host a forum "to hear from educators, parents and other stakeholders regarding the implementation of the new curriculum based on Common Core standards."  North Shore Parents Action Committee members Eileen Stanton, Karen O'Mara Swett, and Noah Blumenthal were on hand to offer to the panel of legislators both a written statement, and oral testimony.  READ MORE

NORTH SHORE FACULTY STANDS UP FOR EXONERATED TEACHER; SUBMITS REINSTATEMENT PETITION

October 27 --- At this past Thursday’s North Shore Board of Education meeting, more than 150 faculty members clad in school colors filled the center section of the North Shore High School auditorium, and stood as teacher's union President Bruce Fichtman read a statement in support of Middle School Physical Education Teacher and Varsity lacrosse coach Aaron Kozlowski.   READ MORE

SEA CLIFF CIVIC ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES AUTUMN WITH CIDER SOCIAL IN CENTRAL PARK

October 30 -- The Sea Cliff Civic Association hosted a "Cider Social" under a canopy of fall foliage at beautiful Central Park this past Sunday afternoon.  Guests enjoyed cookies, snacks, crafts, and of course cider, at the autumn celebration that now has been held annually for more than ten years.  This year, there was a special added attraction, as a wedding ceremony was taking place in the park simultaneously to the Social.

GVA OFFERS SC HISTORY LESSON AT GRAVEYARD THEATRE

October 30 -- This past Saturday, the Good of the Village Association hosted its annual Carpenter Graveyard Theatre, with local resident actors relating the history of the Village's origins through the experiences of the Carpenter family - among the first people of European ancestry to settle the area now known as Sea Cliff.  READ MORE
