We are looking for qualified candidates who might want to work as a lifeguard this summer. You must be 16 years old at the start of the summer and have the necessary accreditation and training. Anyone who is interested should call Village Hall and speak with Marianne Lennon.
Last week we sent out requests for proposals to 20 local establishments who might be interested in running the food concession at the Sea Cliff Beach Pavillion this summer. If you know anyone who is interested and has not received a notice, please let us know and we will send one as soon as possible.
The Beach Committee has asked me to remind everyone that its annual Pub Crawl fundraiser will be held on Friday February 28.
Seniors
The senior bus provided 45 individual rides for the month of January. Our new bus's wheelchair lift has allowed greater use of this service. We encourage senior residents to take advantage of this free transportation to the Mutual Concerns lunch program at Saint Luke's on Tuesdays and Fridays and to a local supermarket to do weekly shopping. Our Senior Action Committee also provides transportation to and from doctor appointments and we are always looking for volunteers to do that driving. If you or anyone else you know is interested, please call Village Hall.

Approximately 20 residents attended the second Town Hall Meeting on proposed changes to the Tree Ordinance that was held on January 27. The Mayor and all of the Trustees were present and are now using the input from the meeting to draft legislation. Once that is done, there will be an informal public hearing on the proposed new law before the Board votes on any changes. If you were not able to make the meeting, you can read a report on the proposed changes in the January 27 weekly edition of Northwordnew online. That report will also be in the March edition of the Village Bulletin.

15.33 tons of commingled metal and glass
26.25 tons of newspaper and cardboard
0.00 tons of metal
5.52 tons of yard waste
31.91 tons of C&D
For the month of January 2014, 18.0% of the waste stream was recycled which is up 1.0% from December.
Scudders Pond
Due to the Weather a broken impeller shaft on the dredging rig the project is about one week behind schedule, however the contractor still is confident they will be finished by April 30.
Ninety percent of the phragmities have been removed. Twenty-five percent of the dredging is complete. A new dredging rig will be launched on Monday February 17. Three geotubes are almost full and are draining well in spite of cold.
Due to a gas main that runs through the weir on Shore Road the existing weir will be rebuit instead of replaced.
In addition the original location for the new water quality unit on Littleworth Lane must be moved due to interference from a gas main and water main. Presently work has begun on the head wall where the main drain line flows into the upper pond.
Fire Department Report
