Celebrate the 4th with a program of great concert band music presented by the Northwinds Symphonic Band under the direction of East Island resident Helen Bauer and guest conductor Barbara Sherwin.
Included in the program will be familiar marches and patriotic favorites, selections from the The King and I, and the music of Irving Berlin and John Williams. Guest soloist and harmonica virtuoso Jiayi He will dazzle the audience with Flight of the Bumblebee and Sousa’s Harmonica Wizard accompanied by members of the band. Soprano, Allison Tamburello will join the band for the Josh Grobin favorite, You Raise Me Up and God Bless America. Northwinds will honor the men and women of the armed forces and close the concert with the Official March of the United States of America- The Stars and Stripes Forever.
