The North Shore Vikings Baseball Team played an "Appreciation Game" on Tuesday, April 21st, against Glen Cove. Congratulations to the Vikings who were victorious 5-3. A ceremony preceded the game as Varsity Head Coach, Scott Lineman, spoke and thanked many invited guests.
Coach Lineman said, “We would like to show our appreciation today. The North Shore Varsity Baseball Team would like to thank the Board of Education, Administration, Booster Club, parents and alumni. Over the past three years, the baseball program has received a new field, scoreboard, bleachers and benches. We feel extremely fortunate to have the support of the community and the school district.”
Coach Lineman thanked on behalf of the entire Vikings Baseball Team the following administrators: Dr. Edward Melnick (Superintendent of Schools), Olivia Buatsi (Assistant Superintendent for Business), and John Hall (Facilities & Operations). Mr. Hall threw out the first pitch after the National Anthem. Coach Lineman also praised members of the Board of Education (in attendance were trustees, Toni Labbate and Joanna Commander). In addition, he extended a special “thank you” to Don Lang (Athletics Director) and the Athletics Booster Club Executive Board including Lisa Castiglione, Maria Aughavin, and Susan Lynn for their continued generosity and support. They were all given an autographed baseball (signed by the whole team) as a special gift!
