ANDY COONEY AND HIS IRISH BAND TO PERFORM AT MORGAN PARK THIS SUNDAY
On Sunday, August 24, Irish eyes will be smiling at Morgan Park Summer Music Festival as Andy Cooney and his Irish Band take to the stage. The concert, which is free to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Park.
Called “Irish America’s favorite son” by The New York Times, Andy Cooney brings his band to Morgan Park with an exuberant program devoted to Irish music. Cooney’s amazing talents and versatility as a performer have been lauded by press across the country—The Irish Echo wrote “…crazy about Cooney,” while a CBS station in Atlanta said “Andy Cooney was the man who really brought the house down.” Cooney, with 18 albums to his credit, has played sold-out shows at Carnegie Hall and annually draws a huge audience to the Caribbean Cruise of Irish Stars. He is a native Long Islander, a resident of Massapequa Park.
The Andy Cooney and his Irish Band concert is supported in part by a generous donation from Jeanne Tee in memory of Pat and Patricia Tee.
So come on down to Morgan Park and enjoy a wonderful evening of musical entertainment under the stars. Bring a blanket or chairs and picnic if you wish. Children are welcome. Please note that alcoholic beverages are not permitted in Morgan Park. Morgan Park is located on Germaine Street at the end of Landing Road in Glen Cove. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, Pearsall Avenue, Glen Cove. For further information, call (516) 671-0017.
