Glen Cove Y Hosts Annual Snack with Santa and More
After the outdoor Christmas tree lighting and caroling were completed at the Glen Cove Y, children and adults alike entered the Pre-School classrooms to participate in a variety of activities, such as cookie decorating and letter writing to Santa, under the direction of staff members of the Y as well as volunteers from Capital One Bank, who also were on hand to act as Santa’s Elves.  The gymnasium was transformed into a beautiful Holiday Boutique for the night.  Of course, the highlight of the evening was a visit from Santa Claus. After talking to Santa each child then received a picture with him. Board Chairman Angelo T. Stanco ( pictured  )  commented, “It’s wonderful to see such a great turnout for this event. We are very delighted that so many families signed up to participate in all of the various activities.  Liberty Ledesma, the Y’s Pre-School Director, as well as the Y’s staff members deserve our thanks for the many hours of work that helped to make the evening’s festivities go so smoothly.  It was a well-organized and planned out evening.  Snack with Santa has become a tradition at the Glen Cove Y, and we are all grateful that so many children and adults enjoy being able to take part in it.”  The Glen Cove Y would like to extend its thanks to all those who helped to sponsor the event: North Shore LIJ at Glen Cove; Starbucks in Glen Cove & Sea Cliff; Downtown Café; Vito's Pizza; Send in the Clowns; H. Schrier Food Distributor; and Stop and Shop.  For more information on other events and programs at the Glen Cove Y, please log onto www.ymcali.org and click on locations.
