North Shore High School selected 11th grade student, Isabelle Glennon, as the school’s annual Prudential Spirit of Community Award winner. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on outstanding volunteer community service at the local, state and national level.
Isabelle has dedicated more than 100 hours to helping others. She is a member of the Key Club, a service club that raises donations for Pediatric Cancer and participates in the annual Jones Beach Breast Cancer walk, among other activities. She also participated in North Shore’s Red Ribbon Week, dedicated to raising awareness about substance abuse and its effects on the community.
Isabelle Glennon traveled to Salem Virginia during the summer of 2016 to participate in a service trip called Feeding America. Isabelle is dedicated to helping students with special needs and organized a program called Shooting Stars to help them learn how to play basketball. She was responsible for getting volunteers to help with the program, reserving gym time, getting adult supervision and showed true leadership skills in coordinating the program. Congratulations Isabelle!
