YouOffice at 50 Glen Street just celebrated its one year anniversary in Glen Cove.  YouOffice with five locations is a unique business that fosters commerce in a downtown area.  Their three story Glen Cove building has 38 suites and four retail areas.  Their success in Glen Cove is from keeping things simple for businesses when it comes to the basics of having an office.  Amenities with the rent include high speed internet, conference room use, utilities, cleaning, taxes,  coffee, hot and cold filtered water, kitchenette networking events and discounts on healthcare.

What makes the YouOffice concept special and successful is that it has an incubating capacity for business with affordable rents.  For starting companies who work mostly at home, there is a beginner package for a shared private office of one to three days a week. This advantage gets the new business owner out of the house where family may be a distraction. It also offers the small business person a place to meet clients in a professional environment instead of their home or coffee shop.  There next levels in renting can be either a dedicated desk in a shared suite or a private suite. As businesses grows, YouOffice can combine suites. A key advantage to their success is that they don’t pressure tenants into long term leases.  The relaxed office atmosphere allows startup companies the ability to mingle at the shared kitchenette or at one of their networking events. The mood in the facility keeps companies friendly to each other.

Presently there are 34 different companies in the building employing nearly 100 people.   Nearly all of these people live in Glen Cove, Glen Head, Oyster Bay, Sea Cliff, Roslyn, Muttontown and Locust Valley. (The closest tenants walk across the street from the Avalon apartments.) The the suites are occupied by companies involved in law,  Media /Marketing, Technical/Computing, Beauty, Finance, Politics, Ecommerce, Sports, Travel, Therapy, Accounting, Health/Life Coach,  Consultants, Automotive and Sales Companies. Its newest retail tenant, Sweet Agenda will feature  New York City’s famous Dough Doughnuts when it is opens in July.

Glen Cove’s YouOffice tenants have been pleased with the set up over the last year. A.J. In regards to YouOffice’s anniversary, Mayor Reginald Spinello said  “In Glen Cove we celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and congratulate YouOffice on its first anniversary.  YouOffice fills a vital need for small business owners in Glen Cove and we appreciate all they do for our community and their tenants.”  

To celebrate their first anniversary, YouOffice held a food tasting network event with treats from Dough Doughnuts.  This event had different offices offering a special or advice on their products or services.  Halfway into the evening’s event Matt  Probkevitz was presented a cake complete with candles and along with other tenants, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Deputy Mayor Barbara Peebles  who all helped him blow out the candle to celebrate their first year.  For information on YouOffice go to www.youoffice.com or call 516-366-5555.
