TRUSTEE RECOGNIZES BEACH EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS

Picture

October 14, 2014 -- After a spectacular summer season at Sea Cliff Beach, Village Trustee Carol Vogt recognized the employees and volunteers "who make it all happen" at the Sea Cliff Board of Trustees meeting this past Tuesday evening.  Noting the turn around the beach has made since the 1970s with the "incredible environmental action spearheaded by the Coalition to Save Hempstead Harbor" and the building of the new beach pavilion in the early 80's, Trustee Vogt, continued that "it's fair to say that the beach did not take its rightful place in the life of the Village until much more recently . . . because of the incredible dedication and hard work" of both beach volunteers and employees.  READ MORE

HOMECOMING IS COMING!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18

Picture
Horned helmets and maroon and white will be in fashion on Saturday, October 18, as the North Shore School District celebrates its annual Homecoming.  The day of fun and Viking pride begins at 9:30 a.m., when community members, students, teachers, district officials and alumni will gather at Glenwood Landing School to march in a parade that will make its way through the center of Glen Head on its way to the High School.   There, marchers will be greeted by a Carnival with plenty of fun activities featuring live music and entertainment, games, inflatables, face painting and popcorn.  At 1 pm, the pre-game show, including a Kindergarten Fun Run and a Football skills competition for elementary school students, begins, followed by the finale when the Football Vikings take on the Manhasset Indians.

Tickets for the Carnival are $10.00.  The District will be providing free shuttle bus service to and from each of the three elementary schools to the high school from 8:45 am to 5 pm.  CLICK HERE FOR SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
