VIVO OSTERIA OPENS IN GLEN COVE
Photo and Story by Tab Hauser
Vivo Osteria had its ribbon cutting ceremony at 242 Glen Cove Avenue. Chef Owner Ben Marotta is pleased to opening his modern Italian restaurant after cooking for over 20 years. Chef Marotta is a Glen Cove resident and was very pleased to find a location in his home town where he lives with his wife and three sons. Specialties of the house are his gnocchi braised lamb and wood fired pizza. His secret is not to skip on ingredients. For the pizza he served at the opening he stated he uses imported flour and tomatoes from Italy. He also served up his tasty calamari cooked with his in house spicy cured red peppers. On hand to welcome the Marotta family with certificates and brief words (due to the cold weather that afternoon) were Deputy Mayor Barbara Peebles, Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton and Chamber President Hender Alvarado.
