VINCENT GATTORNO PHOTO EXHIBIT OPENING THIS SUNDAY  AT SEA CLIFF LIBRARY 

Sea Cliff Arts Council invites you to celebrate and meet photographer, Vincent Gattorno, this Sunday at Sea Cliff Library, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.. His photography will be on view at the library for March and April. Most works will be accompanied by the poetry of John C. Bartul. The artist reception will include an artist talk and a poetry reading. Refreshments will be served. 

Vincent Gattorno shows his photographic skill by using his camera to help view things which occur in an instant, then no longer exist. Unusual angles, textures, and combinations of natural and manmade subjects join to delight the eye and even, at times, question exactly what we are seeing. Vincent comes from a family of artists. His uncle, Antonio Gattorno, achieved international fame as one of the founders of Cuba's Modernist Movement. 

Born in Cuba in 1961, Vincent settled with his family in Venezuela two years later, following the Bay of Pigs invasion by the U.S., to unseat Fidel Castro. A holiday visit to the U.S. with his parents at the age of thirteen, led to a quest to become an American citizen. This dream became a reality in 1993. Currently, he resides in Glen Cove. 

Sea Cliff Arts Council works to share local art and music by organizing exhibits at Sea Cliff Library and Daniel Gale/ Sotheby's of Sea Cliff, and events such as SpringFest, Warm Up, and Chill Out. Our artist showcase nights invite artists to share their art, poetry, writing, or to perform music and plays. Help us support the arts by becoming a member.
