Returning to Sea Cliff by popular demand, The Silly Shakespeare Company’s production of Richard the Nerd will be performed again Saturday November 19, 2016 at 7:00pm at St. Luke’s, 253 Glen Avenue, Sea Cliff. The production is a re-written, one hour version of Shakespeare’s Richard The Third (a political play) with the concept that Richard, an evil man of power who is in line for the throne, uses his nerdy and conniving smarts to out play his political opponents until a horse fails to save him, recalling the famous line; “A horse, a horse, a kingdom for a horse.” The cast performed Richard the Nerd in Sea Cliff on June 6th, 2016, but received many local requests that the troupe return to perform it again. The June 6th production was free and sponsored by the Sea Cliff Civic Association. This production is also free, sponsored by Good Old Queen Bess, with requests for donations at the door. As always the sassy Barmaids from Paddy O’thello’s pub will narrate the show so the audience can understand the plot. The productions are always peppered with audience interaction and “Monty Python-ish” physical comedy. A great way for all ages to enjoy a live production and have a laugh together to open the holiday season.
