YOUNG MUSICIANS PERFORM AT CIVIC ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL TEEN SERENADE CONCERT
August 8, 2015 -- About a dozen young musicians, middle schoolers and high schoolers, performed last Thursday, August 6 at the Sunset Serenade concert sponsored by the Sea Cliff Civic Association.
Most of the performers have received instruction from local music teacher Fank Ferrara, who has not only taught his students to play instruments, but also to perform as members of a band. Some of the musicians were integrated into a few different bands, and even Mr. Ferrara took the stage at times to accompany on drums or guitar. During the second half of Thursday's concert, the Brady Brothers took the "stage" and performed several original pieces, many from their album Riding Shotgun, in a set that also featured a few cover songs such as Five Seconds of Summer's She Looks so Perfect. Sunset Serenade is an annual summer music series organized by the Sea Cliff Civic Association that was initiated 15 years ago by Patrice Kaider, who continues to be the mainstay of the summertime weekly concerts. For the past seven years, one of the nights has been devoted to showcasing Sea Cliff's more youthful musical talent. BACK TO WEEKLY |
