TEEN SERENADE AT MEMORIAL PARK SHOWCASES SEA CLIFF'S YOUNG MUSICAL TALENT
August 10, 2014 -- More than 20 young musicians ranging in age from 8 to their early teens performed at this past Thursday evening's Sunset Serenade concert sponsored by the Sea Cliff Civic Association.
Most of the performers have received instruction from local music teacher Fank Ferrara, who has not only taught his students to play instruments, but also to perform as members of a band. Some of the musicians were integrated into a few different bands, and even Mr. Ferrara took the stage at times to accompany on keyboards or drums. During the second half of Thursday's concert, the Brady Brothers, along with special guest Jack Valentine on bass, took the "stage" and performed several original pieces, including Those Brown Eyes as well as some more recent singles that will appear on their soon to be released EP, in a set that also featured cover songs such as Imagine Dragons' Radioactive, Justin Bieber's Beauty and a Beat and Bruno Mars' Locked out of Heaven. Sunset Serenade is an annual summer music series organized by the Sea Cliff Civic Association that was initiated 14 years ago by Patrice Kaider, who continues to be the mainstay of the summertime weekly concerts. For the past six years, one of the nights has been devoted to showcasing Sea Cliff's more youthful musical talent. BACK HOME BACK TO WEEKLY |
