SUNDAY, AUGUST 4 - PROCESSION OF ST. ROCCOAug. 4 -- A statue of St. Rocco, the protector against plague and contagious diseases, is brought up 3rd Street in Glen Cove following Sunday Mass on the last day of St. Rocco's Feast. During the three hour procession, the sick and homebound are visited, where the Pastor of St. Rocco's Church offers blessings with a relic of the Saint. Participants sing songs, recite prayers, and make monetary offerings that are attached to the statue. The feast resumes at 3 pm today and concludes at 10 pm.
