SEA CLIFF SILLY SHAKESPEARE COMPANY TO PRESENT MacNOOOO! ON SEPTEMBER 20
For over a decade, The Sea Cliff Silly Shakespeare Company has performed “Shakespeare with a twist”- original, abridged and user friendly versions of William Shakespeare’s works to its audience, enabling them to grasp story lines without a full knowledge of Elizabethan English. Children to grandparents have appeared together in our shows creating a deep sense of community spirit.
On Saturday night September 20, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. (Rain date, Sunday September 21 at 5:00 p.m.) the Sea Cliff Silly Shakespeare Company will conclude the 2014 Performing Arts Season at the Sea Cliff Beach Arts Pavilion by presenting its version of Shakespeare’s Scottish play, MacNoooo! Community members are invited to bring a blanket or a beach chair to keep their bums comfy in the sand whilst viewing this FREE SHOW (“You people are so bloody cheap”). In addition to enjoying a FREE SHOW, the audience, in the most exact regard, can encourage the troupe’s continuing performances by pre-ordering a picnic dinner by September 18th, procured and savoured upon the beach t’enjoy the performance (roast mutton not available). Please make your intentions to partake in the picnic by mailing an order form with specific information, available at Village Hall or on the Sea Cliff Silly Shakespeare Company’s Facebook group page. Questions? Contact [email protected] Last year, a record number of ladies and gentleman gave attendance at the troupe’s performance of The Real Housewives of Henry the Eighth. Despite all the beheadings, there is continued enthusiastic support for this year’s show. In fact, the players have witnessed the town folk speaking in cockney accents asking for directions to Paddy O’Thello’s Pub in hopes of catching another FREE SHOW. The usual silliness is expected with sassy narration by the beloved Barmaids, unexpected moments of audience participation, witches’ brews and the usual stabbings (Shakespeare would never be complete without a few bloody deaths.) In short, it is a lovely way to celebrate the fall equinox. So don’t forget your kazoo and remember it is a FREE SHOW. BACK TO WEEKLY |
