It was explained in the Civic Progress Party's candidacy announcement that "for 68 years . . . the Civic Progress Party has never missed nominating qualified residents to run for positions on the Village Board and as Village Justice. Civic Progress is not Democrat or Republican, nor Conservative or Liberal. It has no philosophy other than to identify and nominate people who will guide our Village with integrity and common sense. It generally uses the many Village organizations, boards and committees as a “farm system” where residents demonstrate ability and dedication. As an Incorporated Village, Sea Cliff relies on its citizens coming forward to govern it. The Civic Progress Party acts as a structure to encourage and support them. We urge residents to vote in the Village election next March 18th." Daniel Maddock currently serves as the Party's chairman. The deadline for filing as a candidate in the Village election is in early February. MEET THE CANDIDATES The Sea Cliff Civic Association will hold a Meet the Candidates Night on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 8:00pm in Village Hall on Sea Cliff Avenue. |
