MILAGRO TO PERFORM THE MUSIC OF SANTANA AT GLEN COVE VILLAGE SQUARE
Glen Cove, New York – July 28, 2017 – The Glen Cove Business Improvement District welcomes the feel of high energy, the groove of Latin rhythm and the magic of melodic blues that will be front and center when Milagro plays at Glen Cove Downtown Sounds. The free concert takes place at Village Square, Glen, School, and Bridge Streets, on August 18 at 7:30 pm. The legendary Carlos Santana has been entertaining fans with his fusion of Latin American and Rock music from Woodstock to the present day and Milagro’s tribute includes selections from all five decades.
Milagro was formed in 2005 by a group of musicians whose goal was to pay tribute to the band Santana. Their vision was to accurately reproduce the music to spread the joy of Santana to older and younger fans alike. After playing at local colleges and small clubs and undergoing a few lineup changes, Milagro has developed into a band that performs at some of the top venues in the Metropolitan area. The current configuration of Milagro includes two of the band’s original members. Julio Claudio was born in Puerto Rico, but moved to New York as a young boy and began playing guitar at the age of 11. In addition to being lead guitar and vocalist of Milagro, Julio owns his own recording studio and is a prolific studio and live-audio engineer. On the other hand, Peter Robles was born in the Bronx, but also possesses Puerto Rican heritage and, as a result, has been exposed to music with a heavy Latin percussion element for his entire life. He plays a variety of instruments including timbales, conga and bongos. Anthony Richards (keyboards and vocals), Matt Bermudez (bass and vocals), Drew Pantuliano (drums) and Juan Rodrigues (congas and bongos) round out the group. One of the longest running Santana tribute bands, Milagro holds the distinction of having shared the stage with original Santana vocalist Marvin Moore-Hough. What is more, they have been featured on Mad House TV’s Maverick Soul Hour and in Jim Salvalli’s LIVE Magazine. The band is delighted to be making their first appearance in Glen Cove on the Downtown Sounds stage.
