PRAISE MUSIC - GLEN COVE'S HOUSES OF WORSHIP SHARE THEIR MUSICAL TRADITIONS AT MORGAN PARK
![]() On Sunday, August 7, Morgan Park Summer Music Festival presents musical traditions from Glen Cove’s faith community. The concert, which is free to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Park and is sponsored by PSEG Long Island.
Glen Cove is blessed with a rich tradition of religious and spiritual organizations and music plays an important role in the practice of these faiths. Members from nine of Glen Cove’s houses of worship have accepted Morgan Park Summer Music Festival's invitation to offer a glimpse of these traditions of faith in our community. Participants include the Fuerza Nueva Band from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, The Intercession of the Holy Virgin Russian Orthodox Choir, St. Rocco’s Church, Iglesia Ciudad de Refugio Asambleas de Dios, North Country Reform Temple Choir, Gurduara Muta Sahib Kaur Sikh Temple, Calvary AME Church Mass Choir, Cantor Gustavo Gitlin of Congregation Tifereth Israel and Noste Domine of St. Hyacinth’s Church. There will be hymns sung in Polish, Russian, Spanish, Hebrew and English, as well as an instrumental presentation by the Sikh Temple. Come on down to Morgan Park and enjoy this very special evening of music under the stars. Bring a blanket or chairs and picnic if you wish. Children are welcome. Morgan Park is located on Germaine Street at the end of Landing Road in Glen Cove. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, Pearsall Avenue, Glen Cove. Morgan Park Summer Music Festival is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that has been providing free concerts in the park for 57 years. The shows are completely funded through the generous donations that are received from businesses and individuals. Taxpayer money is not asked for nor received to bring this high caliber talent to the Festival.
