To The Editor:
We lost two fine gentlemen from our Sea Cliff community over the last two weeks: Gene Stefano and Allen Busching. Gene and his brother John operated businesses in Sea Cliff for many years. They were not only successful, but were kind, considerate and generous in all respects. For Gene and John, a hand shake and their word usually constituted an agreement. Gene was a highly-regarded member of the community and will be sorely missed. Allen Busching graduated from Sea Cliff High School after a difficult, but loving experience growing up in the Depression. A man of great intelligence and good sense, Al lived his life by Teddy Roosevelt’s maxim, “Keep your eyes on the stars and feet on the ground.” He retired as CEO of Lamba Electronics and served on many boards, notably those of North Shore Schools and First National Bank of Long Island. We are diminished by the passing of these two great gentlemen. Sincerely, Phil Como |
