TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME! SEA CLIFF AND GLENWOOD/GLEN HEAD LITTLE LEAGUES OPEN 2014 SEASON

After an early morning drizzle, the skies cleared just in time for the start of the Sea Cliff Baseball and North Shore Softball Leagues' opening day parade that took the young players down Sea Cliff Avenue to Clifton Park, where John Canning emceed the festivities that included Emma Haley singing the Star Spangled Banner, Mayor Bruce Kennedy throwing out the ceremonial first pitch to Sea Cliff Elementary student and Mayor for the Day Ray Contessa, and the assembled players, parents, and coaches assemble belting out a stirring rendition of Take Me Out to the Ball Game. About an hour later, players in the Glenwood/Glen Head Little League, marched up Glenwood Road from Cody Avenue and then down Glen Head Road to the Community Center fields, where players, coaches and parents celebrated the opening of the baseball season.
