NORTH SHORE LAX CLUB CELEBRATES SPORT WITH ANNUAL
LACROSSE DAY
April 29, 2014 -- On Saturday, April 26, North Shore Lacrosse Club players, coaches, and parents, celebrated their sport with their annual Lacrosse Day, a community wide event that started at North Shore High School and ended with a fundraiser at Still Partners in Sea Cliff.
The day’s events included victories by North Shore’s 3-time defending Nassau County Champion Varsity Women’s team and a convincing victory by North Shore’s Varsity Men’s team. Those same varsity players then donated their time to work with the youngest members of our community with a free clinic for girls and boys ages 3-8. To continue the day’s events, girls and boys in grades 3-8 participated in games & scrimmages to showcase their talents. In between events, people enjoyed food served by The Brookville Delicatessen, explored a Glenwood Landing Fire truck, snapped pictures in a photo booth supplied by Lisa Anselmo, and purchased the latest North Shore Lacrosse Under Armour gear. Some of our youngest players also had their faces painted. Finally, the fundraiser at Still Partners was a huge success as an overflow crowd caused a line to form outside of the bar. North Shore students provided musical entertainment early in the evening, with performances by guitarist Jack Zorn, a fourth grader at Sea Cliff School; NIGHT FURY, a band made up of Sea Cliff students Danny (bass), Dylan (drums), and Joseph (guitar and vocals); and singer/guitarist Rich Cuite, a seventh grader at the middle school. All proceeds from the day’s events go towards the development of lacrosse in the North Shore Community. |
