NS SUMMER THEATER WORKSHOP - APPLY NOW FOR 2016!
North Shore Arts Angels is pleased to announce that NYC-based Director Terry Berliner is returning for a second season at the helm of the Summer Theater Workshop. Use this link to learn more about 2016 program or apply on-line today: www.summertheaterworkshop.org
The six-week workshop, open to students currently in grades 6-12, takes place Mondays through Thursdays in the air-conditioned performing arts facilities at North Shore High School from June 27 to August 7. Hours are 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. with extended sessions in the final two weeks for technical rehearsals. Public performances in the NSHS Theater are the last weekend in July and the first weekend in August. Depending upon enrollment, we may stage one or more productions, including a full-scale musical. In the coming weeks, Ms. Berliner, who most recently directed the Off-Broadway premiere of a new work by an emerging playwright, will be recruiting professional staff and college interns for the program. Last year our staff included award-winning theater professionals with extensive experience on and off Broadway, in regional theater, and film and television, as well as college students, including many North Shore grads, pursuing advanced instruction in the performing arts (see their bios on the program website.) Tuition for this non-profit program is $1,800 and includes over 180 hours of instructional time with our team of theater professionals, all rehearsal and production materials, daily snacks, tech week meals, two tickets for each performance, a STW t-shirt, water bottle and souvenir program. Tuition may be paid in installments by check or credit card. Tuition aid is available for qualified students. We had an incredible time last summer when we presented "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and a concert of new works by award-winning musical theater composers. We are thrilled to be able to present the program again and hope you will join us! The Summer Theater Workshop is run by North Shore Arts Angels, Inc., under a license agreement with the North Shore Central School District.
