NORTH SHORE HIGH SCHOOL MATH FAIR MEDAL MANIA! 20 Gold Medals - More than any other school on Long Island!

North Shore High School had another terrific year at the 2015 Long Island Math Fair, held at Hofstra University onFriday April 24. Thirty one students presented at the first round in February and 94% of them (29 students) received medals at the April 24 Final Round! (On average, 33%-50% of the students presenting at the first round of the Math Fair receive medals). Congratulations to all of our winners! Gold Medalists: Hally Bello, Danielle Fossett, Dylan McGinley, Lauren Santucci, Rob Sharkey, Jillian Cioptoli, Charlotte DeMartini, Jagger Gillman, Sarah Leventhal, Rajan Vohra, Sara Abbondondolo, Gabrielle Farb, Katerina Ganasoulis, Cecilia Nelson, Miranda Purcell, Julia Reilly, Stephanie Zelenetz, Jill DeDona, Will Rosencrans, and Ryan Tine. Silver Medalists: Marc Bischoff, Izzy Glennon, Riley Keenan, Caroline Lucas, Cathryn Casatuta, Ayanna Fossett, and Aidan Lewis. Bronze Medalists: Tali Pelts and Allison Black. Our students received 20 Gold Medals, more than any other school on Long Island. Additionally, eleventh grader Cecilia Nelson received the 2015 Alice Griswold Memorial Award. This prize is given to the most outstanding paper at the Fair. North Shore has won this prestigious award six times in the past 19 years! Allison was honored at the Nassau County Association of Mathematics Teachers annual dinner on May 20 in Syosset.
