A HOMECOMING WITH HORNED HELMETSUnder sunny skies and with perfect fall temperatures, maroon and white, and horned helmets abounded as the North Shore School District celebrated its annual Homecoming. The day kicked off at 9:30 am with a parade that made its way along a the one mile route from Glenwood Landing School to the High School. As the marchers arrived, kids of all ages drifted off to the carnival where they enjoyed, among other things, games, blow-ups, a mechanical bull, and a dunk tank, as well as a demonstration of last year's robotics club creation. In the early afternoon the stands of the stadium began to fill while elementary school students demonstrated their prowess with the pigskin in the football skills "competition," and their quickness in the 100 yard fun run. The football Vikings did not disappoint either as they routed the Manhasset Indians 52-31. Northwordnews reporter and team captain Tristan Vitale scored three touchdowns, while rushing for 89 yards and adding an additional 74 yards receiving, as the Norsemen powerhouse offense once again lit up the scoreboard.
