YOU SHOULD BE DANCING TO THE NEW YORK BEE GEES AT GLEN COVE'S DOWNTOWN SOUNDS ON JULY 7

 Glen Cove, NY – Downtown Sounds kicks off 2017 with a fun evening of classic 70’s disco sounds by the New York Bee Gees on Friday, July 7th.  Produced by the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District and sponsored by the City of Glen Cove, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Garvies Point and Northwell Health Glen Cove Hospital, the New York Bee Gees bring a retro vibe.
 
The New York Bee Gees Tribute Show is comprised of some of Long Island New York’s most versatile and exceptionally talented players. The band includes present or former members of well known, world renowned acts including The Alan Parsons Project, Happy Together Tour, Meatloaf, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Riot, Herman’s Hermits, Enrique Iglesias, The Rippingtons and more.
 
B.B. King NYC wrote, “The NY Bee Gees Tribute Show presents the most extravagant Bee Gees show a fan can experience. The band offers all of the classic 70’s disco hits from Stayin’ Alive to Night Fever while embracing their early works such as To Love Somebody, I’ve Got To Get A Message To You and Massachusetts. The New York Bee Gees delivers songs from every decade of the Bee Gees catalog with a stunning production, powerful vocals and the professional stage presence to fill any club or casino.”
 
This year 2017 brings some changes to Downtown Sounds. There will be vendors from downtown businesses, artisans of custom jewelry, artisan food and other goodies.
 
Long-time Executive Director Francine Koehler is retiring. The concert series will be overseen by the new Downtown B.I.D. Executive Director Patricia Holman and Downtown Sounds Committee Chairperson Fred Guarino. “Downtown Sounds has been like my child; I have watched it grow over the past 19 years,” said Ms. Koehler. “It’s been a great pleasure and privilege to work with the super people on the Downtown Sounds Committee, the many fine performers we’ve had over the years, and the wonderful sponsors and audiences who support the concerts. I fully expect the Downtown Sounds concert series to continue flourish and serve downtown Glen Cove well.”
