TIME FOR NEW FACES, IDEAS AND ENERGY ON THE VILLAGE BOARDReceived from Maximo Büschfrers, Sea Cliff
March 9, 2018 To the Editor: My wife bought our first house and moved to Sea Cliff twenty years ago. Sea Cliff is a beautiful and secluded Village where life is almost idyllic, a place where all is well until you decide it’s time to do work on your house. I know this well, I’m an Architect. There is a fundamental problem at the building department, the people in charge never held this position before. This is a problem that has been going on for years. These are hard working and dedicated people doing their best to learn on the go, but the ones that pay the price for their inexperience are the residents of this Village. I brought this problem up to the attention of the Mayor and the Trustees in different occasions only to be ignored. Every election the problems at the building department are brought up, every election promises are made, after every election these promises these are broken or forgotten. It is time to tell the Trustees seeking reelection, thank you, but no thank you. It’s time to bring new faces, ideas and energy into our local government. It’s time to elect people that are not only dedicated, but also competent. That is why this election I am voting for Terryl Donovan and Liz Barron for Trustees. Their professional resumes demonstrate that they have the management, technology and communication skills necessary to lead our Village government into the 21st century and at the same time seek input from residents to ensure that our values and traditions are respected. Sea Cliff needs change in its governing practices and Terryl and Liz will make that happen. Maximo Büschfrers, RA |
