DONOVAN AND BARON FOR SEA CLIFFReceived from Lisa Cashman, Sea Cliff
March 11, 2018 To the Editor: Sea Cliff is a unique and very special place. We are fortunate beyond measure to live among so many volunteers whose contributions enhance our quality of life. As an attendee of many board meetings, I am grateful for the service of all the Trustees. Liz Baron and Terryl Donovan are two exceptionally qualified Trustee candidates who would be especially productive additions to our Board. On March 20th I will be voting for Liz Baron and Terryl Donovan for Board of Trustees. I have come to know Liz Baron to be an extraordinarily principled, thoughtful, innovative, and community-minded person. She is a true consensus builder and a proven leader. Professionally, she’s dedicated the better part of the last decade to confronting global educational inequity through her leadership role at the non-profit Teach For America. Prior to this, she held senior information technology roles at blue-chip companies like The New York Times, Goldman-Sachs, TIAA-CREF and Lehman Brothers. Her formal education is from University of Chicago, one of the most respected universities in the country. Liz and her husband Chris, a life-long Sea Cliffian, have lived here for nine years. Their daughter Genevieve is the third generation of their family to call Sea Cliff home. Liz has the skills and ability to improve the function of our government by increasing efficiency, transparency, and more effectively utilizing modern technology. We are extremely fortunate she has answered the call to serve our Village. It has been a great honor to get to know Terryl Donovan. Her unwavering ethical compass is second only to the kindness she exudes. She is a passionate champion of good government and brings over 25 years of public service experience from agencies like the New York City Department of Sanitation and the New York City Department of Education. Her work in the public sector greatly informs her knowledge of municipal budgets, policies and procedures. Most recently, she served our community for 13 years as North Shore’s Director of Fine and Performing Arts. In that role Terryl transformed the department into a thriving program that has graduated nationally recognized, award-winning talent. Terryl has lived in the heart of Sea Cliff for 15 years with her husband who was raised here. Terryl Donovan knows what good government looks like and brings this expertise to the role of Trustee. With Terryl’s leadership, the fiscal health of our community will be safely protected, and our procedures will become more transparent, which benefits everyone. Please join me in voting for Liz Baron and Terryl Donovan on March 20th. Lisa Cashman Sea Cliff, NY |
