JOE ROCK AND THE ALL STARS ROCK GLEN COVE DOWNOWN SOUNDS

Picture
Glen Cove, New York – July 21, 2017 – A potpourri of musical tastes will be quenched when Joe Rock and The All Stars perform in concert at the Glen Cove Village Square Plaza on August 11 at 7:30 pm upon the invitation of The Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District.  Regardless of whether you favor rock, blues, rockabilly or punk, this quartet is guaranteed to deliver the goods.

A mainstay of the music industry on Long Island for decades, Joe Rock is known for his dynamic live concerts and as a radio personality on Long Island’s number-one rock station, WBAB. Indeed, Rock’s on-the-air escapades and his performances across Long Island as a solo artist have defined the term “high energy.” However, when he plays with The All Stars, the energy gets ratcheted up to a whole new level as the band performs both covers and original material for elated audiences. The band includes Lou Carrollo on guitar, Gene Linefsky on drums and Mark “The Animal” Mendoza on bass. And if Mendoza’s name sounds familiar, he was a member of Twisted Sister, the Long Island-based heavy metal band that achieved mainstream acclaim in the 1980s, and also served a stint as the bassist for Blackfoot, a Southern rock band with ties to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Joe Rock and The All Stars have played at The Paramount in Huntington, The BYCB Theater at Westbury (formerly Westbury Music Fair), The Oyster Fest in Oyster Bay and The American Music Festival in Port Jefferson. Regardless of the venue, however, the group has brought audiences to their feet encouraging their participation and making sure everyone shares in the fun. The group is excited to bring their unique brand of mayhem to the 2017 Downtown Sounds stage.
