ARTS COUNCIL HOSTS RECEPTION FOR NORTH SHORE INDEPENDENT PROJECTS IN ART EXHIBIT AT SEA CLIFF LIBRARY
February 3, 2015 -- The Sea Cliff Arts Council hosted an artists' reception this past Wednesday evening at the Sea Cliff Main Library for North Shore High School's Independent Projects in Art (IPA) students.
North Shore High School art teacher Elissa Theiss described IPA as "a self directed program" in which each senior artist works on a year-long concentration of art, based around a chosen idea or theme. The 16 students whose works are on display at the library have been mentored by Ms. Theiss and fellow art teacher Sara Black. The exhibit includes paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs and mixed media pieces. Artists include: Brian Angulo, Tayler Bradford, Emily Cartagine, Toby Donoghue, Lea Eisenstein, Ryann Feldman, Grace Foley, Chris Janusas, Raju Eastland, Sinead McAuliffe, Claire O’Connor, Rachel Schweiger, Katie Spina, Dominique Sylvester, Sabrina Wassef,and Alanis Vulpis. The exhibit and reception were organized by Kathleen DiResta of the Sea Cliff Arts Council and the DiResta Collective on Sea Cliff Avenue.
