SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER WITH SNOWFLAKES FOR SENIORS
December 15, 2018 --Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) hosted a Snowflakes for Seniors program in which students from St. Aidan’s School, Williston Park, wrote heartfelt messages of cheer on paper snowflakes to be distributed to senior citizen at NYU Winthrop Hospital during the holiday season. Nearly 300 snowflakes were made by students grades K-8. “The holidays can be a difficult time of year for some people, which is why I created this program, to help bring some cheer to those who need it most,” said Ra. “This program is also a great way for the younger and older generations to connect. I’m happy to see so many children eager to help bring some holiday cheer to the senior citizens in our community. This is a program I plan to continue for many years in hopes that we can reach more people each year.” The snowflakes were delivered to patients receiving long-term care at NYU Winthrop Hospital on December 11. “NYU Winthrop Hospital is fortunate to work with elected officials like Edward Ra,” said Justin Burke Director, of External Affairs, NYU Winthrop Hospital. “His work with the local schools helps to provide smiles to those that are in the hospital during the holiday season. This program helps assure that our senior patients feel the joy that is given during the receipt of a holiday card. We all know the littlest of things make the biggest of impacts.”
