GOLD COAST LIBRARY SEEKS COMMUNITY INPUT FOR NEW LIBRARY DESIGN
The Gold Coast Public Library is Powered by Community. While the terms of a purchase contract are not finalized, community consensus that we need a new building continues to build. The Library has outgrown its space and has to plan for a future in a larger building.
For that future to be Powered by Community, KG&D Architects will facilitate a series of design charrettes (focus groups) to hear what you would like to see in a new facility. Whether for the currently proposed site or any other, the future of the library is in your hands.
If our present negotiations come to a conclusion, you will be asked to vote on a referendum approving the financing of this project before the end of the year. But, before any vote, make sure your vision is part of what our new building could be.
The charrettes will last between 1 ½ to 2 hours and will take place on Saturday, April 25th at 10:30 a.m. in the Library's annex and on Tuesday, April 28th at 7 p.m. in the Library. Each charrette will include a series of discussions with everyone attending and with smaller break-out groups. Please sign up for one of the charrettes by clicking on the register button below.
If you can't make these sessions, this is just the first step in a process that will have several opportunities for the community to provide input. We will be providing regular updates on the progress.
Thank you for taking the time to be part of this exciting process. -The Gold Coast Public Library Board of Trustees
You must be a Gold Coast Library Resident to participate in these sessions.
