April 26, 2007, Glen Cove, NY… It was a beautiful dog day afternoon as the City of Glen Cove and the city’s volunteer Dog Park Committee conducted the official opening of the Glen Cove Dog Park at Dennis Brian Murray Park. “Thanks to the outstanding efforts of Maribeth Graf and the Dog Park Committee with the support of our Departments of Parks & Recreation and Public Works, we are excited to officially open our new Dog Park,” said Mayor Reggie Spinello. “I can’t tell you how excited we are to have a new facility that offers our dogs a great place to play and socialize,” said Maribeth Graf. “We are grateful for the outstanding generosity of our city and for making the vision of a new dog park, a reality.” The “off-the-leash” festivities featured spirited play in the new park enclosures, free treats, toys and pampering.
