GLEN COVE YOUTH BUREAU HOSTS AFTER 3 SHOWCASE TO HIGHLIGHT PROGRAM'S FALL CURRICULUM

January 27, 2017, Glen Cove, NY… There was excitement in the air at the Glen Cove Middle School as the children of the Glen Cove Youth Bureau’s After 3 program had the opportunity to show their parents, family members and special guests all they had accomplished in the city’s afterschool program.   With the program’s theme, science and technology, children ages 5 to 13 took to the stage to perform and dance to the beat of their favorite songs.  While other kids were proud to show and tell their parents and event visitors all about their art and science projects, planetary constellations and lessons in creative writing, history and healthy eating.  “Glen Cove’s After 3 program fulfills a vital community need for working parents,” said Mayor Reggie Spinello.  “I am proud to work in partnership with the Glen Cove School District on our After 3 program,” added Spiro Tsirkas, Executive Director of the Glen Cove Youth Bureau. “Our program helps to fill the gap for parents who want their children to have after school homework support, skills development and a recreational outlet to complement their school day activities.”
