The Glen Cove Senior Advisory Council recently published a new handbook about housing opportunities for seniors. The handbook contains a myriad of information about the various options available including assistance for individuals who would like to stay in their current homes; rental, condo and coop options; and congregate living alternatives such as assisted living facilities, residential healthcare and nursing facilities and continuing care retirement communities. The handbook also provides information on related services that are available to seniors and other publications that may provide guidance to seniors who are addressing housing and care-related issues. Mayor Reggie Spinello and Glen Cove Senior Center Executive Director Carol Waldman recently took a moment to thank the Senior Advisory Council for spearheading this project and Jennifer Amarante of Atria Senior Living for underwriting the production of the new handbook. Special thanks to Advisory Council members Diane Beecher for designing the brochure and Mercedes Morales for translating it into Spanish. The free handbook is available at the Glen Cove Senior Center located at 130 Glen Street.
