They will lead you along with us on a joyful and playful treasure hunt of gardens bursting with color and with a special surprise around every corner....big treasure, little treasures...artistic creativity is very much alive and it plays out beautifully in this little Victorian Village overlooking Hempstead Harbor. How difficult it is to have a favorite! Gardens are as unique and imaginative as the gardeners. There are waterfalls, ponds, garden structures, unusual perennials and artful terracing, designs, and patterns tucked away in unsuspecting corners. What a wonderful delight! Share the day with your friends and neighbors wandering through eight secret gardens. At tours end you can relax and enjoy some light refreshments in a lovely garden shaded with a high canopy of walnut, maple, and oak trees with thoughts of flowers dancing in your head. As Mr. Burbank wrote, "Flowers are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul." They are happy things. Come join us on Saturday, July 9th.
