HAPPY PLANET CELEBRATION ON MAY 9

On Saturday May 9th El Nevado is sponsoring the Happy Planet Celebration, an environmentally friendly afternoon of arts and crafts activities, at Tappen Beach.  All are welcome to join in,  Children can create balloon powered cars and T shirt bags (bring your own T-shirt to participate). Prizes will be given for fastest car and most fashionable T-shirt.   "The reason we are doing this activity is to teach children to reuse materials and have fun creating toys, which is a positive alternative instead of buying toys constantly.  We want to promote an environmental culture for the new generations. El Nevado's website describes the film as "a captivating yet awakening story where both nature and human interaction play an important role to explore the reality of the planet’s climate evolution. The aim is to promote the education and active participation in global issues like climate change by inspiring younger generations to use their imagination and resources to shift the balance in favor of sustainability of the human race."
