DESERT HIGHWAY TO PERFORM THE EAGLES' GREATEST HITS AT THE GLEN COVE VILLAGE SQUARE ON JULY 15
Desert Highway Performs the Greatest Hits of the Eagles at Glen Cove Village Square
Glen Cove, New York - July 15, 2016 - The chart-topping hits of the Eagles will be featured when Desert Highway Band performs on week three of the 2016 Downtown Sounds Concert Series at the Village Square Plaza in Glen Cove on July 15 at 7:30 pm. The critically-acclaimed performances of Desert Highway provide a non-stop journey that celebrates one of the world's all-time best-selling bands.
Desert Highway is a group of six talented musicians who join forces to pay homage to the Eagles, an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. As such, Desert Highway performs the rich vocal harmonies and intricate guitar styles that were staples of the world-renowned group. The authenticity is undeniable as their show is presented without the aid of prerecorded instruments or vocals.
With five number-one singles, six Grammy Awards, five American Music Awards and six number-one albums, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s. Throughout their storied career, they sold more than 150 million records and the Desert Highway set includes many of these classics. For example, Eagles fans at the Village Square will sing, sway, dance and cheer during "Take It Easy," "Life in the Fast Lane," "Peaceful Easy Feeling," "Heartache Tonight," "Desperado" and the classic-rock anthem "Hotel California." The set list also features the solo work of Eagles' members Joe Walsh and Don Henley.
The six musicians comprising Desert Highway have each had successful musical careers in the studio and on concert tours with major performing artists. However, their main claim to fame is the remarkable job they do replicating the rock and country sounds of the historical American band. "Their sound is so cohesive that if you didn't know better, you might think you really were at an Eagles concert," wrote Pat Ryder of the International Press Association. "The singers were eerily evocative of the originals. The guitar work was impeccable, and at times dazzling. Desert Highway left the impression that they were much more than an Eagles tribute band."
