LARA GONZALEZ FOR NORTH SHORE SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE

Dear Editor,

We are writing to recommend Lara Gonzalez for North Shore Schools Board of Education Trustee.  We have known Lara and her family since 2004 when our sons were in first grade. We met Lara and her husband, John, when he was the President of the North Shore Lacrosse Club. Throughout our boys’ elementary, middle and high school years we got to know the Gonzalez family very well after logging many miles attending our kids’ lacrosse games and tournaments throughout Long Island. 

When we first met Lara she was a teacher in Great Neck. We remember when she shared with us that she was making a transition to school administration about five years ago. Lara felt that as a school administrator she would have a positive impact on the lives of even more students. She is currently a K-12 Supervisor in Oyster Bay – East Norwich Schools and is committed to the success of all her students. She manages a team of teachers who teach Social Studies and Career & Technical Education in grades kindergarten to twelve. Lara is an instructional leader in her district and observes in dozens of classrooms at different levels and in different subject areas. She has deep expertise in K-12 education and would bring that experience to the North Shore School District.

Lara is passionate about public education.  She would be an asset to our district as a member of the North Shore School Board and would bring her vision for a world class educational system that provides the best quality experience for our children in the areas of academics, athletics and the arts.
