CURTAIN RISES ON LOCAL OUTDOOR SUMMER CONCERT SERIES NEXT WEEK
Organizers of four local summer outdoor concert series have announced their line-ups for the upcoming season. In Sea Cliff, the curtain will rise for the 16th season of the Civic Association's Thursday night Sunset Serenade concerts on June 27 with Larry Martone and Friends, while Sea Cliff Beach music will kick off on Friday July 7 with Roger Street Friedman and The Ramblin' Kind and continue each Friday night throughout the summer. Both series feature exclusively locally based bands. On August 3, Sunset Serenade will showcase Sea Cliff's more youthful talent in its annual Teen Serenade showcase. Glen Cove's two music series offer an eclectic mix of acts that include several tribute bands - from the Bee Gees to Led Zeppelin to John Denver, as well as a soul music revue, a folk music festival, a showcase of young talent, and a violin virtuoso. The Glen Cove Downtown Sounds concerts will be performed on Friday nights at the Glen Cove Village Green (Glen and Bridge Streets). The Sunday evening concerts at Morgan Park in Glen Cove, now in their 58th season will begin on July 2. The start time is 7:30 pm unless otherwise noted.
