SEA CLIFF FIRE DEPARTMENT HOLDS FUNDRAISER TO CRUSH CANCER
August 4 -- On Sunday, the Sea Cliff Fire Department held it's "Crush Cancer” Rock & Roll Beer Garden Fundraiser & Chinese Auction, to support firefighter and ex-Chief Michael Hallquest, who is battling brain cancer.
Several hundred attended the event and were treated to music by rock and roll cover bands Alice and the Madhatters and Chicken Head. The dunking tank was an especially popular spot, as several good sports, including trustee Ed Lieberman, were willing to take the plunge. The Chinese auction raffled off hundreds of prizes including gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses, golf for four at local country clubs, tickets to Mets and Yankees games, an Ipad Mini, and a $600 tooth whitening. Congressman Steve Israel was there to give his support.
