CRITIQUE GROUP OF LONG ISLAND EXHIBIT AT DANIEL GALE/SOUTHEBY'S IN SEA CLIFFAn artist's reception for the "Critique Group of Long Island" was held at Daniel Gale Sotheby's in Sea Cliff this past Sunday afternoon. The exhibit, sponsored by the Sea Cliff Arts Council, will continue through January 3, 2014.
The group of thirteen artists met at the Creative Arts Studio in Sea Cliff. They get together on a monthly basis to engage in a dialogue, with the common goal of bringing each person’s body of work to a higher level of accomplishment. Current artistic practices and professional goals are discussed in the context of art history and contemporary gallery and museum exhibitions. The artwork in the Daniel Gale exhibition is, typically for the group, an exciting contemporary mix, ranging from painting to photography, to assemblage and collage.
