2ND ANNUAL CHILL OUT CELEBRATES SEA CLIFF
The weather was appropriately cold and brisk for the second annual “Chill Out in Sea Cliff” held this past Friday evening. The celebration of the community’s local businesses, musicians, and artists, organized by Kathleen DiResta of the Sea Cliff Arts Council with support from Board Trustee Ed Lieberman, kicked off at 5:30 pm on the Village Green, with the opening act - local singer/guitarist Jason Liebman accompanied by percussionist Dan Roth - performing a half hour set of indie folk.
Delighting in the November chill and the community spirit, the crowd grew larger and warmer as the hot apple cider, saki, and hot chocolate flowed freely, the children frolicked, and the Sea Cliff Youth Council collected canned food on behalf of Mutual Concerns, while the village's multi-generational musical talent was on display with Night Fury, a band of Sea Cliff fourth graders taking the stage, followed by RiDE and then headliner the Roger Street Band. A last minute addition, guitarist Ella Oswald and keyboardist Siobhar Esposito, both North Shore freshmen, closed out the Village Green performances with an impressive set. Several local businesses along Sea Cliff and Roslyn Avenues participated in the festivities, keeping their doors open late for shopping or viewing art; and restaurants and bars featuring special “Chill Out” offerings on their menus and hosting performances by local bands and musicians. The Sea Cliff Farmer's Market made its last appearance before its winter hibernation. |
