Cardiologist, New York Times contributing opinion writer and author Sandeep Jauhar will visit the Gold Coast Public Library on Tuesday, October 6 at 7pm to discuss his latest book, Doctored: The Disillusionment of an American Physician. This timely industry exposé and memoir calls for a reestablishment of moral practices in patient care while revealing how liability- and profit-driven practices in American healthcare are subjecting patients to unnecessary tests and high fees.
Dr. Jauhar is the director of the Heart Failure Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is also the author of Intern: A Doctor’s Initiation, which chronicled his internship and residency.
Copies of the Intern and Doctored are available at the Library’s Circulation Desk.
Friends of the Gold Coast Library will sell copies of Doctored and the author will sign them.
Registration is required and can be done in-person at the Library, by phone by calling 516-759-8300 or online at www.goldcoastlibrary.org. The event takes place in the Gold Coast Public Library Annex, 40 Railroad Ave. Glen Head.
