SCHOOL BOARD TO ADOPT BUDGET AT THURSDAY MEETING
On Thurday, April 3, the North Shore Board of Education will meet in the high school libary at 7 pm as the Audit Committee, and then at 7:30 for its regular meeting. On the agenda is the budget adoption for the 2014-15 school year. The spending proposal, after having undergone three revisions over the past six weeks, stands at $95,850,328.86 - an increase of 1.984% over the current year. Currently the proposed tax levy for next year is at 88,000,000, a 1.76% increase over the current year's and nearly 120,000 below the New York State imposed tax cap. Both the Audit Committee and Regular meetings are open to the public.
