For the past 17 years, North Shore High School’s gym has been packed with student athletes, parents, and faculty members for the annual Sports Night competition. This year’s theme was “Habitat.” All dressed in green, the freshman represented the Jungle, while the sophomores in blue depicted the Ocean. Sophomores in yellow symbolized the African Desert and the seniors in mighty white characterized the Tundra.
During the exciting evening, the gym was heated as the interclass competitions including dance competitions, tug of war, various relay races, cage volleyball, and the famous obstacle course took place to a roaring crowd! In addition to the athletic competitions, an Academic Bowl took place on Thursday afternoon. This gave students the chance to showcase not only their physical attributes, but their academic knowledge as well.
Congratulations to the seniors for winning the Sports Night athletic competitions while the juniors came in second. Additionally, bravo to the sophomores for winning the Academic Bowl!
Without the support from the administration, class advisors, faculty, and parents there would be no sports night! Thanks to everyone who made this another exciting and fun evening! Photos by HS Senior Intern Danielle Zbodula Article by Shelly Newman
