To The Editor,

I am writing to enthusiastically endorse my friend Lara Gonzalez for Trustee of the North Shore School District Board of Education. Lara’s expertise in public school education, her passion for children, and her unwavering allegiance to the North Shore community make her an exceptional candidate for the BOE. 

I have known Lara Gonzalez for close to 14 years. We first met when our boys were in preschool together. At the time, my husband and I were raising our two children a few towns away.  Lara and her husband John spoke so highly of the North Shore community we could not wait to pack up and move here and did so in 2003. Throughout the years Lara and I have had many late night conversations about the state of public school education. We have discussed, even at times debated, the happenings within our own local schools. Due to Lara’s 20 years of education experience she is extremely knowledgeable and I leave these discussions better informed. She is always opened to hear different points of view.  

Lara is both an idealist and a pragmatist. She will thoughtfully consider what is best for our children while balancing the economic impact. We all know that at times tough choices must be made. Lara has been part of the educational budgeting process in her professional career for many years at various school systems. I urge you to vote for Lara Gonzalez and let her bring her knowledge of school district budgeting and her passion for education to our district.
